You can never get bored of Chinese food.  And as always, at these occasions, there was so much of it. Jimmie Yee emceed a very nice evening of entertainment and education. Carol was caroling on the harp. And Sharon was sharing her beautiful voice.  Pun intended.

The Tom brothers revealed the history of the Chinese peoplein Marysville, dating all the way back to the mid 1800s century. Talk about hope tempered by with racism and sheer uncertainty. Yet these people kept on going.  They really paved the way for us not so Chinese Chinese Americans.

Was surprised to learn that Michelle Wong (Mike's sister) is an author of a children's book "Gordon and Lili." Awesome. I'm sure it will be a great refresher course for my Chinese language, or lack thereof.

Worship team played dinner music... lots of improvisation.  I enjoyed putting Larry on the spot with guitar solos, and changing the song forms on the fly for the vocalists. Anyway, I wanted them to think on its feet more while playng...listen to each other, listen to the Spirit and make beautiful music as a team... and enjoy the moment that God has given us. We're getting there. Good to see Grant Fong playng the drums for us again. James, Jessica, Nina, Grace, Max, Larry, Matt and Karen...thank you!

And thanks to all the people who made this a wonderful evening.

I totally agree with Ted. The dinner was not only delicious, but everything was so well organized and the folks who gave presentations and provided entertainment were so talented, inlcuding our worship team! I also had the pleasure of having some very good company at my table. Sunday mornings are busy and it's difficult to say more than "Hi" and sometimes a short conversation. I had an opportunity to have a relaxing conversation with Mary Fong. She's always so friendly and I finally had a chance to get to know her a little better. It's truly a joy to fellowship with God's people.
