A few weeks ago, July 18-22, we conducted our third annual VBS (Vacation Bible School) ministry here at CCC.   I thank God for Karri Yee and Mei Fong who co-lead VBS this year.   They did an incredible job with all the planning, organizing, and leading of this wonderful week of sharing God's love with children.   Praise the Lord for the huge team of volunteers who worked so well together, each person contributing in their own special way.   Just days before VBS began we only had less than 10 kids registered.   But during the week God brought over 40 children to enjoy VBS.  Even the VBS staff appreciation outing to the River Cats baseball game this past Monday evening Aug 1, was a special blessing as the River Cats won in dramatic fashion with a two run walk off home run in the bottom of the 9th inning!

I thank and praise God for the 8 people who attended our membership class this past Sunday after church.  Two others had planned to attend but were unable this past weekend and may take the next class to be offered this fall.

Currently, there is a special basketball instructional program at CCC called the "Lil Hoops" program.  There is an incredible team of dedicated coaches and volunteers working with a large number of kids each Monday and Wednesday evening during these first three weeks of August.  What a blessing to see so many families enjoying this special program!  I thank God for all the volunteers who are serving during these three weeks of Lil Hoops.

Finally, Eileen and I thank God for good news we received this past week that a lump in her mother's stomach area was determined to be nothing serious.
