In my opinion, Spring is the most perfect season of the year. The flowers are blooming with its array of colors and scents, the warm rays of sunshine casting its bright light over all the earth, while soothing light warm breezes caress our skin and renew our senses. I think anyone who works indoors would love to be outdoors on days such as these. My thoughts drifted to lying on a sandy beach, or lounging on a park bench as birds chirp overhead, or floating in a raft down a lazy river. It would be an opportunity to relax and forget about all the complexities and responsibilities of life. These were my thoughts in early April as I stepped outside of my building at work one day during morning break. The warm, soothing weather caused me to reflect. When was the last time I set aside time for Jesus, to reflect on God's awesomeness, to thank Him for all the blessings He has bestowed on me, including the gift of salvation? Despite whatever trials we might be going through, there is much to be thankful for. The thoughts of my sometimes quick prayers before meals, my sleepy prayers before going to bed and my quick, "Help me through this rough patch." during challenging moments seem so hurried and even robotic.

I think of the many Christians who will unite during resurrection Sunday to spend focused time remembering the very special act of sacrifice by Jesus on Easter. By fulfilling His Father's command, Jesus gave up His life for mankind so that someday we can have eternal life - to those who believe. "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

So as I soak in the bright, warm breezy Spring day, I take a few minutes to think about Jesus, about what He had to endure, on my behalf, so that someday, this relaxing Spring day can be forever Spring in heaven for me. As busy as our lives are with school, work, family, or whatever, let me encourage you to pause and reflect on Jesus' love for us by dying on the cross, especially during this month when Christ was crucified. And the peace of God in our lives will make each day a Spring day!

Happy Easter.
