Over my 10 years serving here as pastor of CCC, I have tried to help all of us focus on God's Word. God's principles and commands for us should far outweigh any of our own personal human opinions and political views. Our 41st president, President H.W. Bush, who passed away recently, is being honored around our nation this week. Please view this touching video where a fellow WWII hero, former Senator Robert Dole, who turned 95 years old on 12/4/18, stands from his wheelchair to salute the casket of President Bush at our nation's capitol rotunda.
Obviously, like all of us, neither of these men were perfect. But both lived lives of honor, service, humility, and faithfulness to their families. Lets hope and pray all of us Americans, especially those of us who call ourselves Christians, cultivate similar character traits as we follow after our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Lets focus less on criticizing others and instead turning our focus on our desire to better experience and share God's love!
Regardless of political affiliation and positions, character means far more!
