My family had an unforgettable 4th of July weekend near Ashland, Oregon. We met up with my mom, siblings, in-laws, nephews, and nieces at my brother Doug's house, which stands on top of a mountain. Like most of our family functions, it was controlled chaos for three days.
On Saturday, we hiked up Table Rocks, a plateau that gives you a sweeping view of the Rogue River Valley. "For the beauty of the earth," the old hymn reminds me. The landscape defies explanation, except to say that God's hand must've shape it over milliions of years. And on this day, I've been blessed to enjoy it with my family.
