Taste And See!

I.          Like food, we must ____________________ God to see how good He is.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.”      (Psalm 34:8)

II.         God’s ____________ is also sweet  to our taste when we experience it.

"How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth."   (Psalm 119:103)

III.       We must get rid of _____________ in our mouths to taste what is far better.

“Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.  (2) Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 

(3) now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.”                                               (1 Peter 2:1-3)

Taste And See!

I.          Like food, we must _experience______ God to see how good He is.

II.         God’s _word__ is also sweet  to our taste when we experience it.

In today's sermon, Pastor Louis talked about food.  He shared his personal experience about sweet onions, never knowing how good they were until he actually ate them himself.  He also made the point that even if we like certain foods, we can grow tired of the same old thing if eaten repeatedly.  However, unlike physical food, he pointed out our spiritual appetite actually grows with each taste or experience of God.  This is an amazing spiritual phenomenon of actually growing in desire with each experience.  This made me think of the song our worship team lead this morning entitled Sweeter.  If we continue to experience the Lord in our daily live, it just gets sweeter, sweeter than the day before.
