This was another great worship set led by Dan Fong.

For me, what made this worship set special was the personal sharing Dan did about his friend Felicia Louie.  She has had some significant health challenges and has weathered them all by the grace of God.  She intially had breast cancer and successfully beat that.  She then had brain cancer and overcame this.  Most recently she is recovering from her lung cancer.  Dan shared her PET scan, at one time, showed many lesions consistent with diffuse disease.  Most recently her PET scan is completely free of disease...what a miracle!

During Felicia's cancer treatements, she remained close to God and even heard him say to her, "I will not harm you."  Dan shared about this promise in Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Dan transitioned from this story to remind us of how great our God is that would make this promise personally to Felicia and heal her from yet another cancer.  The song How Great is Our God took on special meaning in light of his sharing.

I recall singing a song in church a while back about this Jeremiah verse and was hoping to share it.  I tried to find a YouTube video for it, but came up empty.  Instead I found this.  Enjoy...and remember, God has a plan for you, to prosper you, not to harm, a plan to give you hope and a future.

Last Sunday's worship set had extra meaning for me, citing my friend Felicia's undying faith in our God in the midst of physical challenges. Her conviction is steadfast, and she knows God has a perfect plan for her. I hope that Felicia's trials are an inspiration for all us to acknowledge that God's plan for us is according to His will, not ours. Turn your earthly life over to Him and live the abundant life He promises.
