Can you believe it’s been 10 years since our contemporary worship team started? Dan reminded us of this fact and led is in worship with some of the team’s early worship songs. What a blessing it has been these 10 years! Special thanks to Dan, Ted and many others who have led and stretched all of us in this area of corporate worship. Many thanks to the Congregation, who has been supportive and encouraging of this change to a more contemporary worship style. As Pastor Louis shared, churches have split over things such as worship style – traditional versus contemporary. Interestingly, years ago, traditionalists believed only the psalms were appropriate for worship while our current hymns were considered contemporary at that time. I praise God for the unity our church has demonstrated over this change and appreciate our more senior members who have also welcomed this more contemporary style. I know the worship team is also sensitive and respectful of more traditional tastes and has continued to incorporate hymns into each service. I look forward to the next 10 years of worshipping and praising our God together at CCC!

Psalm 98:4-6
4 Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises!
5 Sing praises to the LORD with the lyre,
with the lyre and the sound of melody!
6 With trumpets and the sound of the horn
make a joyful noise before the King, the LORD!
