A Note from Pastor Chris to the Church Family
Dear CCC Family,
It’s a joy and an honor to step into this new chapter with you as your lead pastor. From the first time I visited CCC, I could sense a love for God and a genuine heart for people. Jesus Himself said this sums up the entirety of Scripture: Love God and love people. I look forward to continuing in that spirit and seeing what God will do in our midst.
As we begin this journey, my prayer is that CCC will remain a place where people encounter Christ, find community, and are equipped to serve both here and around the world. Let’s walk into this next season expectant for what God will accomplish through His Spirit and His people.
I can’t wait to meet you, hear your stories, and discover how we can grow together in Christ.
With gratitude and anticipation,
Pastor Chris and Jenny Milbrath

3. We would like to request the help of our church family and friends with the following logistical and operational matters starting this holiday season:
Use of church resources. You may use office equipment and supplies openly found in the church office (not in any locked cabinets and drawers) but please return them where you found them on the same day. Our items are inventoried and things borrowed but not returned will have to be re-purchased using our church funds with Consistory's approval. Also, only Consistory and a few church folks are authorized to open our locked and closed cabinets, cupboards, and drawers – please do not access these locked receptacles without permission.
Maintaining pest-free conditions in our church office areas. Our pest control service technicians may have found signs indicating cockroaches and rodents in the areas and are taking measures to prevent infestation. Two useful guidelines: a) please do not leave unsealed, open food and food or drink products anywhere within the church office rooms. b.) do not use our church office rooms’ trash containers for any food, food and drink products, and organic matter. Food and organic matter should be directly thrown into our outdoor steel waste containers in the concrete structure on the parking lot (again, that’s outside!).
Cost-saving measures. Consistory would like to request everyone’s help in our church’s cost-saving measures, which effectively helps keep our (limited) church finances manageable. Here are a few ways, but not restricted to, to do this: 1) avoid unnecessary or non-official use of church office equipment and supplies (e.g., toner, paper). 2) turn off appliances, lights, and other electricals after use. 3) encourage and continue use of electronic and online-based resources over paper versions. 4) re-use and recycle! These small steps help our church in a very real way to save money and resources that mostly come from your tithes, offerings, and donations.
Making authorized purchases. Relatedly, if you need anything for church ministry purposes, after you pay for them up front — materials, supplies, postage, subscriptions, services — simply email us the amount (receipt can follow) and after Consistory OKs it, you will be happily reimbursed. For more costly purchases and long-term paid commitments, please seek Consistory’s approval first before purchase.
That said, we thank and praise God for always providing for our church's needs as we do our part in caretaking, oversight, and guardianship duties for our church - with love. Thanks so much for joining us to be responsible and accountable stewards of our church resources, finances, and property consistent with 1 Corinthians 4:2: “Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful”.
For questions on any of the aforementioned concerns, you can contact Consistory directly or thru ccc95822@yahoo.com.
Prayer/Praise
Let's pray that God will continue to pour His comfort and grace on the family of our sister Gon Chan who went Home to God on November 24 at age 98. Gon was seventh of ten children of Yan and Hom Shee Fong. Her siblings are the late Willam Fong, Tuey Lowe, Penny Yee, and Velma Leong. She is s survived by her son Tim Chan, daughter Jody Whitlock, and sister Mary Yee (Jimmie Yee). Gon grew up attending CCC and enjoyed many of our church activities. It was a blessing for Pastor Louis and Pastor Mark to share communion with her at home visitations.
Please pray for healing for Sharon Wong, Maybelle Whang, Jan Bowman, Rachel Chou.
